Last we left off at the Scorpio New Moon Solar Eclipse, it was known that we would face a delay.
Particularly, a delay in receiving some kind of energetic deposit in our “account.”
I encourage you to go read last week’s newsletter to catch up.
What’s happening at this Taurus Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is that the direct deposit is now hitting our accounts—hopefully we haven’t been destroying too many precious things in our impatience.
This fertile, abundant, earthy Taurus Moon falls right on Ouranos—the electric champion of sudden freedom, disruptive tribes and rebellious individuals.
Our delayed reward is going to come in hot—ZAP! Like making up for lost time.
Give the planet of chaos a wide berth so that your reward can come in. If you’ve made channels into your life too narrow—thanks to ideological fixation—you’ll probably be shocked in a more disturbing than exciting way.
Furthermore, the north node is going to be on top of this bright Full Moon and Ouranos.
The north node is always what points the way forward for us, collectively and individually. In fact, the north and south node are what time the eclipses, which is why we put so much stock in them.
During the eclipse seasons when the Sun and Moon directly hit these nodes, the feeling of destiny is even more acute. A Taurus north node says: “Feel your fertile abundance. You are worthy, just as you are.”
But Ouranos adds an interesting flourish to this: “Perhaps you’ve forgotten to be yourself lately, caked over as you are by tribal illusions and a yearning for utopian dominance. Being yourself is just pure unadorned freedom.”
To set the stage for this newsletter, I want to review a key scene from the movie “Shawshank Redemption.” Up to this point in the movie, we’ve watched our everyman hero Andy Dufresne, who was falsely imprisoned for killing his wife and lover.
Right away we have some Scorpionic or Plutonic themes: a love triangle; secrecy; cheating; deep passion; violence and unjust outcomes.
But as with Scorpio, too, there is always. . .redemption.
Of course, redemption comes after washing away the mud—really it comes through the mud, because Pluto/Scorpio represents the lotus flower that grows from mud and fish feces.
Over several years, Andy has patiently whittled a tunnel to the sewage room, and on one fateful night during a thunderstorm, he crawls through a literal river of shit until he is redeemed in the rain of his freedom.
This is the essence of our very powerful eclipse—including all the history that Andy must leave behind.
Here’s the intense 90-second clip. I’ll meet back up with you after the jump. Let’s go.
Sticker Shock
We very much need to look at slow background energies to understand what’s going on now.
Then we’ll get into the present eclipse details that are more momentary.
First, let’s start with the planet we’re already discussing: Pluto. This will come in handy when we start discussing all the planets in his domain of Scorpio.
As we know from the last newsletter, Pluto is patient. Like a termite, he’ll eat away at the foundations until everything is hollowed out.
Is he a saint or a sinner—or just a force of nature here to show us our shadow?
Well, he entered Capricorn—the earthy sign of governance, society and banking—in 2008. Obama and Biden entered the White House. Lehman Brothers collapsed, changing our financial system forever.
And now he sits in the final degrees of Capricorn, ready to enter Aquarius in March 2023.
This is very much like Andy. This is the End of the End. We’re in our collective dark night of the soul, ready to pull the trigger on our long-awaited prison break.
Enough of this sick society, it’s time for a New World of Freedom.
Speaking of hair trigger pulls, chaos and new societies: that’s the essence of Aquarius (and his ruling planet Ouranos).
In Aquarius we currently find Saturn, who is the classical ruler of Aquarius (Ouranos is the modern ruler).
If you look at the myth of Ouranos and Saturn, it’s about generational warfare between young and old. Saturn is the co-ruler of rule-loving Capricorn. Presently, he’s looking next door at Pluto’s destruction in Capricorn over 15 years. Saturn’s the voice in headlines saying that we can perhaps just be good paleo-conservatives or classical liberals and ignore the writing on the wall.
Ouranos is in Taurus saying, “To hell with all that! It’s about individual fertility! Just make stuff in your backyard, forget all these global ambitions!”
Now, the reason WHY this argument is even happening is because Ouranos and Saturn have been in a tight SQUARE position since about 2020.
This is a periodic, but not super common cycle. Without getting into too many weeds, the last time a cycle of this specific nature occurred was early 1930s—a time of financial depression and the rise of dictators.
Money down, control up. Can you see why it’s so important to focus on the Taurus message now? Taurus says: “Hey, you’ve got a bag of favorite things, values, talents: that’s all you need to be happy.” Ouranos adds: “All you need to be free, too.”
Ouranos CAN pull the good out of Saturn. He can encourage him to not side with Pluto and become a rightwing influencer-dictator or a spoiled Antifa brat who destroys Van Gogh paintings.
Because Saturn absolutely will cut out bullshit, if he sees it. He can be very narrow, in both good and harsh ways, like the tunnel of shit Andy crawled through—he carries the waste away.
Constructive rebellion is what Saturn can join in, to say it another way. Which is a good counterbalance against Ouranos, who’s a bit more prone to unconscious chaos.
Together, in conversation, they can remove deadwood but still honor the value of structure. Instead of giving rise to the sons and daughters of anarchy, they create an intense dialogue about the sacrifices we need to make in order to create lasting freedom.
It’s a breakthrough via breakdown.
A visionary soul needs movement like a bird needs open skies.
Ball & Chain: Unbound
As Saturn continues to square Ouranos and this Full Moon, our reward of freedom will strike our senses with 10000 volts. It could be a very destabilizing surprise, if we’re not ready to sacrifice attachments.
“I’m free—but what about my old prison buddies back there?”
You must choose a path. You can’t stay stuck between two worlds for long.
Anything related to Aquarius is a sudden lightning bolt. Notice in the clip how Andy waits for the thunder and lightning to sound, before he smashes a rock into the last stretch of sewer pipe.
He climbs inside, and pukes in the river of shit, even though it’s a twenty-minute crawl to freedom compared to the twenty years he’s been in prison.
That’s very much like our situation today. Fifteen years under Pluto in Capricorn prison wards—and now, a few months in the river of shit.
But you HAVE to keep going. Even if that means exiling yourself to freedom or doing things that will alienate you from big tents (more like big prisons).
You see, Taurus is about WANT. Scorpio is about NEED.
This is why Venus doesn’t do well in Scorpio, like we discussed last time. She wants to be in Taurus, with the Full Moon in Ouranos.
But no, she’s in Scorpio, right on top of the Sun and Mercury and the south node—opposing the Full Moon, Ouranos and the north node.
What does this mean? After all, we need to hear her message. She is the ruler of Taurus and therefore rules this Taurus Full Moon!
Well, with Venus in Scorpio currently on top of the shitfaced Scorpio Sun and a morbid Mercury. . .we hear her message through a breath heavy with a foul stench:
What you need may not be what you want and what you want may not be what you need.
Ouranos is the contrarian. He can get into this kind of upsidedown logic. He’ll shake you and say, “You don’t need a seed oil ebook to feel validated!” And Saturn may back him up—strongly.
Saturn may come in and say, “That’s right, you can stand on your own two feet. But you don’t need to be LONELY. By the way, stop arguing with your good and loyal friend over monogamy! Maybe their personal desire to sleep around can teach YOU something ironically about YOUR own desire to pair bond!”
This eclipse is where smart goes crazy. The good way forward isn’t supposed to make logical sense. You’re rewriting the ending, finding a last chance exit before the tides turn.
Taurus is prized possessions, values—and these can be like a ball and chain unless we truly understand them. If they’re weighing us down, they need to go. But, like we see in the movie where Andy ties a few possessions around his ankle, they can also be a springboard reminding us WHO WE ARE AT CORE AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN AND WILL BE.
Sudden bursts of drama may reawaken us to our core vision—and remind us to go through with what we’ve patiently whittled away at over the years.
Pull that damn trigger. Yes, it’s a few football fields of shit. But it’s a perfect storm for an escape now.
Are you really going to give up your chance at freedom because you’re worried what others will say? Have you given up on your dreams?
There’s something full circle coming to our lives now, and even in the chaos there is much forgiveness and redemption.
That Scorpio south node on the Sun and Venus and Mercury says we’re leaving Scorpionic shit behind—the delusions that in our ideological utopia-prison we’re at least top dog, because in the wide world we’re merely an army of one. Let that go. We’re heading towards the fertile flowers of freedom.
Sometimes that means leaving others behind, too. As Red says of Andy after the man’s escape:
“I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright and when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice.”
But even more likely, it’s an old version of ourselves that we’re leaving behind—the part that keeps us from pursuing what we know is very freeing.
Embrace your unique tastes, honor your palette, reach towards the beauty that makes your heart sing. These are your true possessions. This is your security.
It’s time to make your long-awaited escape, into the glorious unknown.
