Welcome to Snapshots.
This is a new series I will be doing in conjunction with my biweekly New Moon and Full Moon posts.
It’s to show how astrology helps us review the recent past as much as anticipate what’s next.
We’ll look at a visual archetype to get an anchor on the week’s energy.
For the week of 6/26 - 7/2, we have a Parisian boy on an errand for wine, snapped by Henri Cartier-Bresson in 1954.
He could probably only imbibe the smallest gulp before feeling a bit tipsy, so he won’t be paid much for his efforts.
But he doesn’t look deprived. He’s already happy to just be there—intoxicated to have found his role. He’s already seeing himself 20 years hence, coming home perhaps to a family of his own.
Until then, his hands are literally full. He’s a pack horse. An errand boy.
Where does he really think he’s going?
That’s the question on our minds this week, I believe. It’s a New Moon in Cancer week, which is always about going home to family.
We saw Bodega Bro land in NYC, homesick for his old town. All he wanted was some dinner ingredients, but he couldn’t find it in the Bronx. His employer added to the deprivation by firing him. Still, many seemed to relate.
We also saw calls to stockpile the Plan B morning after pill. Meanwhile, Sheetz is trying to keep deprivation at bay through a special holiday price at the gas pump.
The Dow kept plummeting this week, but Radio Shack stepped in to let us know it was still there to serve us with, uh, Radio Shack things.
Cassidy Hutchinson did her best Amber Heard impression by testifying against former president Trump. She already seems forgotten by Friday, so maybe she won’t win Errand Girl of the Week after all.
In the end, the world this week has shown that we’re entering an edgier Cancer season than usual. Many figures and trends are like Cartier’s errand boy, trying to express a sense of being indispensable even though all we have right now is a dog day chore—shouldering a burden with no reward.
We have to find purpose and “home” wherever we are now. You may be wondering where your reward is, and it’s found by leaning into the necessities of the moment. Having a sense of service means you’re never truly deprived.
Would you like access to this level of guidance, backed up by the time-honored system of astrology?
I will help you find a unique purpose in this world of change.

I love this! Combining the visual with actual events and using both to illustrate astrology reading for the past week works so well. Thanks.
