Before the fall of the Berlin Wall, those fleeing East Germany for West Germany had few options.
In 1964, a group of West Berlin students dug a tunnel under an abandoned bakery, assisting in the escape of 57 East Berliners.
Otto Bettmann photographed one of the students talking to two NBC correspondents in the bakery’s basement.
This past week, we’ve been under the energy of an Aries Last Quarter Moon.
It’s kind of a last hurrah for the Cancer Sun, before we flip into an explosive Leo Sun season.
Cancer is about family, nurturance, food—yes, indeed, bakeries.
I wrote a thread on Twitter explaining that as the brave Aries Last Quarter Moon ushered out Cancer season, there were more than a few sparks.
Oddly, that Aries Moon was blowing up Pluto, the planet of subterranean plans and clandestine activities.
Not only were we letting go of some old forms of family/nurturance/comfort food. . .in the process, we were getting in touch with a deep sense of unfairness in the world.
A feisty, urgent sense of closure—all hidden and cloaked by the comforting facades of Cancer season.
So, many of us might have felt like this snapshot. Digging our way through the muck and oppressive stagnation. Seeking freedom, doing whatever it takes to dig deep, through that last inch of earth.
We saw Biden let slip that he has cancer, prompting many to feel like taking fate into their own hands. “No one’s coming to save us but other fellow Berliners!”
The lusty Jezebel of the Interwebs, also known as Aella, wondered why some people won’t just be nice and start digging.
And finally, on an extremely wholesome note: we saw a humble deliveryman of America’s favorite baked good—pizza—bravely rescue children from a burning building.
All in all, this week is carrying us into a very electric, very chaotic August. If you want to make sense of this past July and position yourself for abundant opportunities ahead, I encourage you to check out the application below for a birth chart reading.
We’ve tunneled through some muck—and are breaking into something new!
